The Android Notepad ColorNote Resource Page

This app is not named ColorNote by accident. Its claim to fame is the functionality that allows users to classify and sort notes by color. But, don’t let this naming convention trick you into presuming that the color sorting system is the only feature of this app. The app contains several innovative features.

FEATURES

The app contains a stickiness feature. Using ColorNote, Android notepad users may make a note sticky and attach it to the background of the Android device using the ColorNote widget.

The user of the ColorNote app may create two different kinds of notes. This includes a traditional free-form note with no structured formatting and a checklist styled note designed for a to-do list. Using the checklist the user can check off items as they are accomplished.

The app includes a calendar to which notes can be attached and organized by date. An alert is sent when it is time to do whatever is in the note.

The user may take advantage of the app’s archive feature. This works much like the Gmail feature of the same name. The user simply archives notes that are no longer needed and may choose to re-access those same notes by tapping the archive icon. Once the archive has been accessed the user may choose to sort the archived notes by the last modification date.

As of version 3.0, notes are linkable using a Wiki-like syntax. This allows the user to embed a link to another note within the text of the original note. To create a link, the user simply enters the name of the note to which he wants to create a link and surrounds that name with two closed brackets on either side of the name. This will force the note name to appear as a link. When the reader clicks on the name he is taken to the second note.

ColorNote owners have the option to protect their notes by using the password lock feature. This prevents unauthorized access to notes written using ColorNotes.

SYNCING/SHARING

ColorNote app users may backup or sync their notes with the ColorNote online service. This also provides the benefit of allowing them to access notes from multiple mobile devices.

PRICING

There is no cost to using ColorNote. ColorNote’s unique approach to note taking and note management definitely justifies the investment of time in downloading and installing the free-to-use ColorNote app.
