Before you download a notepad app from the Android Market, browse this site, read a few of the reviews, watch the videos and find the app that fits your needs.
Currently featured are reviews of Evernote (perhaps the most popular Android Notepad), Catch Notes (possibly Evernote's strongest competitor), ColorNote, Note Everything, Wunderlist, InkPad and FreeNote.
It is important to note, this site features reviews of note taking apps only. To see reviews of rich text editors or word processor apps visit AndroidWordProcessor.com.
You may nominate an app for review if it is not already listed on this site.
There are two different categories of Android notepad apps to choose from. First, apps like Evernote and Catch Notes are geared towards allowing the user to take notes, attach images, create audio records, collaboratively share those notes with others and essentially enable to user to take a comprehensive diary. Once taken the notes are stored on the app developer’s servers where the user has access to a significant amount of initial storage space for free. Once the free space allotment is exceeded the user must subscribe to continue service.
Second, apps such as Wunderlist function as task managers. These types of apps are designed to manage a series to todo items as opposed to serving principally as a notepad. There isn’t a charge to use many of these apps although pro features such as the removal of ads may be purchased.
Interestingly Microsoft’s OneNote app offers a break in the traditional notepad app monetization model. The first few hundred notes created within the app are created at no cost. Then, should the user wish to continue using the app he must pay a small one time fee.
Much more information about each of these apps can be found within their respective pages on this site. If you have been assisted by this site please consider liking this page on Facebook and Google Plus. Thank you for your visit.
